With the aim of supporting, strengthening and improving the quality of primary education, the Government of Assam has invited DME UP Assistant Teacher applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of a total of 1750 posts.

Educational Qualification for Asst. Teacher (UP)
| Qualification/Experience | Marking/Weightage |

| Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) | 5% of marks secured in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or equivalent Examinations. |
| Graduate from the UGC recognized University | 5% of marks secured in Graduation examination. In case of candidate having Major in any subject, the marks secured in Major subject shall be taken into consideration. |
| And 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education | 5% of marks secured in Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) examination or D.Ed. Maximum Total Marks: 100.
Age Limit
Candidates should ot be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years of age as on 1st January, 2023.
i. For SC/ST Candidates maximum age: 45 years
ii. For OBC/MOBC Candidates maximum age: 43 years
iii. For Ex-servicemen candidates maximum age: 42 Years
iv. For PWBD Candidates maximum age: 50 years
Reservation: There will be reservation for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Army etc.
